Occupation(s):

Recovery Coach. Previously, waitress/restaurant manager, behavioural teaching assistant.

Home and Family:

I live with my husband Josh and our son Fred.

Passions and Hobbies:

I enjoy tarot card reading and believe I have a talent for guiding people through this medium. Book club and reading is a new and exciting hobby, although reading has always been important to me. While not traditionally a ‘passion or hobby’ it seems the pursuit of my BA has taken up so much time that it should qualify as such. More accurately, the pursuit of personal growth and knowledge are passions of mine. Covid-19 had uncovered a new passion for me: doing puzzles. And, while I’m not proud to admit it, I do very much enjoy TV, specifically binge worthy content and reality shows. While I don’t spend enough time on it presently, I would also identify creativity and art (mainly painting) as another hobby I enjoy. Finally, singing and music are two other areas where I find and experience joy.

Schooling:

Almost finished my BA!! 3 courses to go… Previously graduated from College with a diploma in Child and Youth work. I also attend leadership workshops on Indigenous teaching and ways of relating to people and groups.

Where you Live:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia.

Life Philosophy:

Everything happens for a reason.

Life Experiences that are unique to you; that helped shaped who you are:

Being an only child for sure. Losing my license for drinking and driving. Having a friendship with Sarah. And then, in a big negative nutshell, all the experiences that hurt me. But this negative nutshell is only named that in reference to the pain associated with the experiences. In reality, with all the pain has come valuable lessons and, most importantly (to me anyway) empathy. These are my pain presents and I am grateful, when I reflect, for the way they have helped shape who I am.

List your top 5 comfort foods:

Poutine… I question this question… Like food that makes me feel better? Comforts me? I don’t really have that and so it’s hard to choose 5 that describe a relationship I don’t really have with food. I started with poutine, but if I’m being honest, that doesn’t comfort me, it’s just super delicious and I put it in this category of ‘comfort’ because it’s also bad for me (if I ate it as much as I wanted to anyway) and so to indulge in poutine is like a guilty pleasure for me… Is that comforting? I don’t know…
