Members: Lindsay

Name:

Lindsay (I have many nicknames, including Lex and my childhood friends call me by my last name).

Occupation(s):

Assistant General Manager and Sommelier at a high-end Japanese restaurant

Home and Family:

Being the only one of us six Book Interrupted members without children, I have a different perspective. I’ve been with my partner for over ten years (we’ve lost count).

Passions and Hobbies:

I have a lot of passions and hobbies - I am always writing a novel that I never seem to finish; I paint; practice yoga every day; jog; bike; bake. I’m often reading more than one book at the same time, also often not finishing them. I travel when I can. My biggest passions at the moment are my wine studies. When I finish one course, I sign up for another. I am always studying something. If I won the lottery, I would be a full-time student.

Schooling:

I have an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre; a Graduate Diploma in Journalism; plus a few wine accreditations, including Sake Scholar, French Wine Scholar, I am a Certified Sommelier, and am in my last year of my WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wine.

Where you Live:

My partner and I live in the west end of Toronto, Canada.

Life Philosophy:

Oh gosh, this is hard.... hmmm.... I like the saying “Leap and the net will appear” but I am realizing this might be due to my privilege that I assume a net will be there for me. I think kindness is one of the most important traits a human can have and I try to live my life being kind.

Life Experiences that are unique to you; that helped shaped who you are:

During my undergrad degree, I worked two jobs in order to graduate debt-free so I could travel after I graduated. After falling in love with Europe, I moved to Brighton, England for two years, then Vancouver and eventually Melbourne, Australia.
