On this weeks Manuscript Monday Sarah recommends "Before the Coffee gets Cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

This is a small but mighty book. There is a small cafe in a back alley in Tokyo that has been serving coffee for more then a 100 years, but what makes this place so special is that you can travel back in time. There are rules for the time travel and a special place you need to sit, but most importantly you have to come back before the coffee gets cold. So, you only get a brief moment and nothing you say or do will change the present.
This was a magical, thought provoking novel. It was also written concisely with just the right amount of emotion. The emotional parts snuck up on me and I’d find myself weeping. It was a lovely read and I couldn’t help thinking if I had a chance to go back in time for just a moment, even if it couldn’t change the present is there anything I’d want to say or do. This is one of those books that reminds you to seize the day.
