Manuscript Monday: The Myth of the Goddess

On this weeks Manuscript Monday Kim recommends The Myth of the Goddess by Anne Baring and Jules Cashford.

This was a book assigned in one of my classes. It’s a history book, but very interesting. It reminds me of the DaVinci Code, kind of. I recommend it because I don’t usually like history books, but I found this one interesting. It speaks to how women were worshipped in the oldest civilizations and how the goddess imagery was eventually sullied to further the purpose of religion. It offers an interesting perspective on how the patriarchy came to be.
